What scripts will my child learn during their subscription?

Your child will embark on an exciting calligraphy journey! The first box will be an introduction to calligraphy styles in general. After that, about 3 months are dedicated to each script style, so depending on the length of your subscription your child may learn one or several styles. We alternate between broad edge and pointed pen calligraphy styles that include (but are not limited to):

• Textura Gothic: Introduces the beauty of Gothic calligraphy. This initial step helps children see how strokes fit together like Lego bricks.
 • Copperplate: A connected script using a pointed pen, with step-by-step stroke guidance.
 • Uncial: An enchanting broad-edge script, perfect for those who love Elvish aesthetics.
 • Modern Calligraphy: A playful and forgiving style, encouraging creativity.
 • Additional Styles: Depending on subscription duration, opportunities to explore Italic and Architectural lettering.

How can I give Script Kids as a gift?

When you check out, simply enter the gift recipients shipping information and select the "This is a gift" option. This allows you to include a personalized gift message that will be included in your first shipment. After purchase we will send you a confirmation email and link to manage your account. 
It's the perfect way to share the joy of calligraphy with someone special.

Question 3

When will I receive my box ?

Accepted Answer

Your boxes will ship on the 5th of each month using USPS Priority Mail and should arrive within 2-3 days of shipment.

Holiday Orders: New holiday orders placed between December 5th - Dec 20th will have their first box ship within 2-3 business days. Place your order by December 13th to ensure arrival by Christmas.

Is this suitable for left-handed writers?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely!!! No leftie will be "left" behind! In addition to having taught countless adult left-handed writers, one of my children is a left-handed so I have worked really hard to understand the particular challenges faced by lefthanded writers. Demonstrations will primarily be done with my right hand, but I do make sure to pause occassionaly to demonstrate any techniques that would be different for a left-handed child.

What age group is the Script Kids box intended for?

The Script Kids box is designed to cater to a wide range of learners. It has been designed with ages 13 and above, making it perfect for kids, teenagers, young adults, and even adults who prefer a simplified, step-by-step approach to learning calligraphy. My teaching approach seeks to be an inclusive and engaging learning experience, designed to be enjoyable for both boys and girls.

Can I unsubscribe ?

We hope you truly enjoy your ScriptKids subscription, but when it's time for you to move to something else, here's how you can manage your subscription:

Please Note: If you selected one of the multi-month subscriptions that secures a discount rate on the boxes, cancelation is only possible once your initial commitment period is fulfilled. However, you can still opt to pause your subscription for one or two months at a time.

To manage your subscription:

1. Click "Manage my Account" on our home page (found in the top right corner).

2. Add your log-in information to access your account page.

3. Once logged-in, click on the "Manage" button.

4. Click on "Cancel Subscription" on the bottom right corner of the screen.

5. You will be given the option to pause your subscription for 1-2 months or to cancel. If you wish to cancel, click "Cancel My Subscription" and click "Confirm"

Question 7

Will my subscription automatically renew?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all our subscriptions are set to automatically renew, except for gift subscriptions. An email will be sent to you prior to the renewal so that you will have time to cancel before the rolling subscription is processed. For further details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions page linked in the footer of this webpage.

Do you ship outside of the USA?

Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping at this time. Stay tuned though! As we expand our offerings, we will absolutely look forward to sharing the gift of script  across the borders and over seas.

Question 9

Does my child need to know cursive first?

Accepted Answer

No, prior knowledge of cursive is not required for any of the scripts taught in this course. We'll be covering connected scripts like Copperplate, teaching each stroke step by step. If you'd like to see Cursive included as one of the styles we offer in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out! We're always eager to accommodate based on interest and demand.
